What CoolSculpting
does, and where it stops.
CoolSculpting is an FDA-cleared, non-invasive procedure that uses controlled cooling (cryolipolysis) to destroy fat cells, which the body then metabolizes over the weeks following treatment. The submental version, CoolSculpting CoolMini, uses a paddle designed to fit beneath the chin. For that one zone, it has clinical evidence and a long track record. Three structural limitations explain why patients increasingly look for alternatives.
Treats one zone, not the full jawline
The CoolMini paddle is engineered for the soft tissue directly under the chin. It does not reach the jowl area, the sides of the jaw, or the lateral jawline, the zones that contribute most to lower-face contour over time.
Does not address skin laxity
CoolSculpting reduces fat but does nothing to tighten the skin above the treated area. Many patients require follow-up procedures (filler, Sofwave, RF microneedling) to address the loose skin that can remain. Those add cost and clinic time.
